Chris Wong is a self-taught designer and founder of _CODED [underscorecoded], an independent designer focused on slow design and personal storytelling. Influenced by digital media, functional systems of living, and modern craftsmanship, his work examines the relationship between form, identity, and motion. Each project reflects his ongoing pursuit to define what it means to be a designer outside traditional structures.

Through _CODED [underscorecoded], Wong explores identity, belonging, and connection by designing, experimenting, and creating works that express his personal vision and lived experience. His practice draws from his understanding of how people become who they are through their environments, routines, and creative systems. Every piece is grounded in patience, repetition, and imagination, a slow craft built over time and through self-discipline.

[PERSONA]: A MOMENT, A TIME, A MEMORY

The [PERSONA] Capsule is a body of work that represents the most recent chapter in Chris Wong’s ongoing search for self and his acceptance of identity through creation. [PERSONA] explores the layers of identity we build and the roles we play in our pursuit of purpose and it’s struggles for connection and belonging.

The launch of the PERSONA Capsule culminates with A MOMENT, A TIME, A MEMORY, a reflection on the beginnings of past projects, ideas, and experiences that shaped the identity and acceptance of Chris Wong as a designer. The exhibition presents eight years of process, thought, and lived experience that trace the evolution of CODED [underscorecoded]. Each piece in the capsule serves as a study of craft, reflection, and belonging, merging form and function through personal growth and lived experience.
